Banco Santander Central Hispano is to delist from the Tokyo Stock market. The move will be effective from March 23rd 2001. During the 1980s many foreign companies gained listings on the Tokyo market. The level of trading never met expectations and during the last decade their has been a mass exodus. There are now only 40 foreign companies listed.
