Mario Monti, the EC Competition Commissioner is reported as having stated that he accepts the 'Portuguese solution' to the BSCH bid for Mundial Confianca. Mario continued that when the Portuguese government veto was formerly lifted and the normal voting rights restored of the Mundial shareholders the EC would halt its legal action.
